Our Church Family --
Clarinda First United Methodist Church is a family of people who long to grow in the
love of God through Study, Prayer, Worship, giving and Service.
.This community of faith, has over 150 years of service in the community and has a
reputation for truly caring for those in need.
John Wesley, one of the early leaders of the Methodist Movement, challenged
Christians to spread, "Scriptural Holiness across the land". Wesley understood that
it is not only our words but our actions that speak the good news to those who are
needing God in their life.

About Us
Making Disciples -- Developing Leaders -- Changing the World
Our desire is to honor God and to bear witness to God's loving grace in Jesus Christ working
and moving in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Making Disciples -- We are calling people to place their faith in Jesus Christ. It begins with
them developing a personal, loving relationship with Jesus. By confessing their faults,
accepting the truth, and believing that God raise Jesus from the dead; they will begin to see
their life changed.
Developing Leaders -- Through Worship, Prayer, Bible study, and service these new
disciples/Christians will begin to see how God can work through each one to care for others.
Sharing the good news by word and deed, every Christian at Clarinda First United Methodist,
has a place to minister, serve and honor God.
Changing the World -- As each Christian Disciple grows in their faith and service to the Lord,
the world is changed. It begins as Paul said, "If anyone is in Christ they are a new creation, the
old has gone and behold the new has come." As we move from focusing on ourselves to
focusing on the needs of others, the world is changed.
