When you join us in worship, God will bless you with the knowledge that you
are not alone in this journey of faith. We are all in this together. We are
learning to be more like Jesus every day. And as we walk together being led
by the Holy Spirit we will continue to grow and change into the loving,
forgiving people we should be.
Now I want you to know my understanding of my job as pastor of Clarinda
First United Methodist. I quote the Apostle Paul as he headed off towards an
uncertain future.
"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the
race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of
testifying to the gospel of God's grace." Acts 20:24 (N.I.V.)
That is my job. To Love the Lord first, to love others next, and put myself
last. In the midst of that I will testify to the gospel of God's grace so that
others may know the source of that love.
