Ministry in the Church -- Serving the Lord with Joy
Clarinda First United Methodist Church works in the community to bring
people together and serve the Lord in ways that help others grow. You may want to
give to help support these ministries or you may find yourself in need of help. Either
way we are here to serve you and help meet the needs of the Least of these.
Serving the community and those in need we have two ministries that focus on
feeding the hungry.
1- Sew and Share- this is our congregation's food pantry. It is
supported by the generous gifts given to the Church and by a
group of dedicated women who sew quilts and do other handwork
that raises money to buy food and other commodities to help those
in need in the area.
2- Faith, Food, & Fellowship- ministry within the ministry. Every Sunday
the afternoon begins with Bible study at 2:30 p.m. Lead by Pastor
Andy Rubenking. At 4:00 p.m. Commodities are distributed to those
in need. At 5:00 p.m. Community groups then proceed to serve
those gathered a meal.
3- Bible Studies- We have several opportunities to dig into God's word.
Check out the Events Calendar to see if there is one at a time for you.
4- Youth classes and groups meet weekly - see the Events Calendar
for more opportunities.
5- Vocal and Bell Choirs- If you enjoy music, we have a place for you- no
matter what your age.
6- Nodaway Valley Free Clinic on Thursday evenings at the Clarinda
regional medical center Clinic.
7- CD ministry to those who are not able to be with us in worship. Let us
know through the e-mail if you are interested. You can also listen

We have many other opportunities to serve the Lord and your neighbor. Please
